Sixteen senior artists got together and decided to exhibit together at the Arts Center. The group artists ranged from fresh beginners to experienced professionals. With most works primarily watercolor mediums, the show was bright, colorful and overall a very upbeat show! Subject matter included birds, flowers, zebra, rhinos, skiers, moose, tigers, sailboats, and “Lazy Seals”. The opening reception was canceled due to one of our frequent North Country blizzards; however, a closing reception was combined with the annual DEC Awards Ceremony. The turn out was amazing! On the last day of the exhibition there was over 140 visitors mingling with artists and making last minute purchases.
Some of the senior artists also participated in a special workshop held for the Girl Scouts 100th Anniversary. Together over 80 Girl Scouts and a handful of seniors made original art about the most influential women in their lives. These works were concurently displayed with the Encore show.
