The first show of the New Year at the Strand Gallery featured work by Larry Poole, Peter Shrope, and Denise Duprey. Larry Poole and Peter Shrope had a collaborative show in the Main Gallery while Denise Duprey exhibited “Through My Eyes” in the Community Gallery. Saranac Lake artist Larry Poole works in the area of non-toxic intaglio printmaking. Poole’s work has been in more than 30 local and regional juried art exhibitions and has several won awards. Peter Shrope is a local artist, sculptor and designer. His experimentation using crushed Adirondack rock dust as glaze ingredients led him to develop the original formulas he uses in his current work that he calls “Adirondack Rockware.” Denise Duprey’s exhibit “Through My Eyes” focused on panoramic images of the city and lake fitted into up-cycled storm windows. Both shows were on view from January 9th to February 6th, 2015. The opening reception for these exhibitions was held January 9th, 2015 from 5:30 to 7:30.
