Looking to get inspired? Want to get creative in a group of community members? Each quarter we open up select studios in our Arts Center for drop-in style fun. See below for upcoming sessions!

Cost: $20 (FREE for Artist* members!)

Pre-registration is not required. Just check-in at the Welcome Center front desk upon arrival.

Please note: you must be 18 years or older to participate in the Community Open Studio Program.

Participants are required to bring in their own consumable art supplies (eg. paper, pencils, ink, paint, etc).

Community Open Studio

  • Printmaking

    Printmaking Studio (Basement)

    Spring Dates:
    April 24, May 29, June 26

    5:30-7:30pm

    Calling all printmakers! This group is for artists to collaborate, create, and share their experiences in the medium of printmaking. Participants will have access to our Richeson Press (17’’ x 35’’ bed) that can be used for a variety of printmaking techniques, including: block printing, collagraph, engraving, and monotype. We also have a large glass table, a selection of brayers, carving tools, and paper tear bars.

    Participants are required to bring their own ink, linoleum, and paper. Black ink will be available for proofing purposes.

  • Painting

    Visual Arts Studio (2nd Floor)

    Spring Dates:
    April 23, May 28, June 25

    5:30-7:30pm

    Each session of this group will feature a still life composition participants can utilize to hone their observational painting skills. Participants are also welcome to bring their own reference pictures and work alongside their fellow painters. All levels of painters are welcome, and the sharing ideas and techniques is highly encouraged!

  • Drawing (Still Life)

    Visual Arts Studio (2nd floor)

    Spring Dates:
    April 15, May 8, June 12

    5:30-7:30pm

    This group is open to all who are interested in the art of drawing.

    Each session will feature a still life composition participants can sketch through observational drawing. Creativity is encouraged, so don’t be afraid to have fun with it!

    Participants are required to bring their own drawing tools and paper. Some easels, drawing benches, and drawing boards available.

  • No, unlike our general studio access, the Community Open Studio program is open to both non-members and members.

  • Our Community Open Studio program session dates launch with our quarterly classes.

  • Your $20 fee includes access to our art studios for the Community Open Studio experience you selected. Studio access is normally a privilege reserved for members-only which is why we’re proud to offer this program so community members get a taste of what our studios have to offer!

    We also encourage our members to attend Community Open Studio sessions (free of charge for members!) to interact with other local artists, share ideas, and create together.

    Although there is no formal instruction in these sessions artists often share tips and tricks with each other and offer feedback. We highly encourage participants to share their work and ideas with each other!
