Darkness & Light Exhibition
Darkness & Light is a two part collaborative exhibition between the Strand Center for the Arts and SUNY Plattsburgh to celebrate the 2024 eclipse. The Darkness theme will be exhibited at the Strand Center Gallery and the Light theme will be exhibited in the Feinberg Library at SUNY Plattsburgh.

Hues of Identity | Pride Exhibition
Hues of Identity showcases queer art illustrating the queer experience through the perspective of LGBTQIA+ artists.
Through the lens of media, culture, history, politics, intimacy, self acceptance, and more, this exhibition highlights queer artists as artists worth celebrating. Even if the pieces do not appear explicitly “queer” in nature, they serve an important role in queer self-expression!

Students, in teams of 2-4, will be presented with a challenge to complete in 24hrs while locked in the arts center. The ADK Coast 3D Print Sprint is co-produced by Strand Center for the Arts and Plattsburgh Robotics.

Beautiful Losers | Screening and Guest Panel
Please join us for a screening of the Contemporary Art Film, Beautiful Losers, at the Strand Center Theatre.
The film focuses on the careers and work of a collective group of artists who since the 1990s began a movement in the art world using D.I.Y. aesthetics from skateboarding, graffiti and underground music such as punk rock and hip-hop.
The film will be followed by an invited guest panel of Artists: artist Julia Devine, Punk Artist Liz Allen & Hip Hop Artist Benn Rymon. Following the Panel discussion will be a Q&A.

Eloquent Visions: Honoring the Rich Tapestry of Black Artistry
Strand Center for the Arts is proud to host Eloquent Visions: Honoring the Rich Tapestry of Black Artistry, a group exhibition featuring the work of Joel Tineo, William Ransom, Thomas Jerard Greene, Elizabeth Marques, Dee Wolfe, Takeyce Walter and Winosha Steele.
This diverse group exhibition aims to bring forth recognition to black artists with various artistic mediums displayed in the gallery including: painting, sculpture, 2D work, and mixed media.
Eloquent Visions opens to the public on Friday, February 9th, 2024, with a gallery reception from 5—8 p.m.

Cards for the Community
Join us in the Strand Center Gallery on Wednesday, January 24th from 5-9pm to support the Clinton County Office for the Aging’s Valentine's for Older Adults initiative to create Valentine’s Day cards for older adults in our community. Let’s help bring more joy to our neighbors!
We will collect all of the cards and deliver them to the Clinton County Office for the Aging to be distributed to older adults in our community.
Event is FREE and open to the public. Drop-in style event. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
Downtown Caroling
Join us to celebrate the start of the Christmas weekend with an evening of caroling. At 5pm we will meet in the historic Strand Center Theatre to learn and rehearse Christmas carols. Then, take the show on the road! We will be walking around Downtown Plattsburgh to spread holiday cheer to local businesses and community members with a culmination at the Christmas tree on the front lawn of Strand Center for the Arts.

French Club: Réveille tes arrière-grands-parents
In conjunction with the exhibition, Fleurs d’archives, artist Ève K. Tremblay will be hosting a French Club/performance in the gallery on October 25th at 6pm dedicated to spoken translation of her titles in the exhibition, entitled Réveille tes arrière-grands-parents (Wake up your great grand parents). Ève hopes that historians and Québécois descendants, who vaguely remember their grandmothers swearing in Québécois, will show up and exchange stories.
