Petite Galerie Juried Exhibition: Play FULL
For our first ever juried exhibition in the Petite Galerie, we’re highlighting work that is Play FULL. The micro gallery project was driven by joy and playfulness and we’re excited to showcase local artist’s work that engages with this theme. Maybe that looks like lots of color or silly subject matter! Let the theme Play FULL inspire you to create tiny works of art. Submitted artwork can be 2D or 3D! The gallery space is 18”x 18” so work should be proportional. Submitted artwork must be finished upon submission. We will select 3-5 pieces (depending on size) to be shown June 6- July 30th.
Open to artists ages 14+.
Timeline:
Deadline to submit is Friday May 23rd, 2025. Jurying will take place the week of May 26th and artists will be notified by Friday May 30th. Artwork will need to be delivered to the Strand Center for the Arts (Art Center) May 31st or June 3rd - June 5th.
Juror:
Mollie Ward is an artist, the Clay Studio Manager at the Strand Center for the Arts and the creator of the Petite Galerie. She graduated with a Bachelors of Fine Arts from the State University of New York College at Plattsburgh in 2022, with a focus in ceramics and drawing. Her work consists of sculptural and functional ceramics and large scale oil pastel drawings. In 2024, Ward was awarded a residency at Walkaway House in western Massachusetts. She has been included in exhibitions nationally, most recently at K. Grant Fine Arts in Vergennes VT and The Clay Studio in Philadelphia PA.
Please note: The Petite Galerie is outdoors and not climate controlled. The gallery is locked with a padlock. Works on paper should be framed or mounted on foam board. By submitting to this exhibition you are agreeing to displaying your work in this space for the duration of the exhibition. For 2D works, we use command strips to hang on the “walls” so please confirm that you are okay with that display method.
